Committee Policies
Please pay careful attention to our committee policies. All delegates should follow them during the conference.
Technology Policy: delegates are only allowed to use computers or tablets during unmoderated caucuses, with permission of the committee director. Delegates should only use technology to work on working papers or draft resolutions. Phones should not be used in committee, unless the delegate has explicit permission from their committee director.
AI Policy: use of generative AI to write speeches, position papers or any conference-related document is prohibited. Use of generative AI will disqualify delegates from awards.
Printed Documents Policy: delegates are allowed to bring printed research materials into committee. To ensure delegates are not using pre-written resolutions, directors will review all documents brought into the committee room. We also discourage pre-written speeches, with the exception of opening speeches for each topic.
Policy on Working Outside of Committee Session: this is strictly prohibited. If a Secretariat member is informed of a delegate working on anything committee-related outside of committee time, this will jeopardize their candidacy for awards.
Punctuality and Attendance: delegates are expected to be on time and present for all committee sessions. If a delegate anticipates arriving late or missing a session, they must provide written permission from their advisor to the committee director and request an excuse at least one day in advance.
