Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Community Members,

My name is Evan Lu, and it is my great privilege to welcome you to the thirteenth iteration of Yale Model United Nations Taiwan, held March 12-14, 2027, in Taipei, Taiwan.

For over a decade, YMUNT has brought together bright minds from across Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region for a weekend of intellectual discussion, debate, and collaboration. As global challenges grow more complex and interconnected, our Secretariat believes that the work of fostering informed, engaged, and empathetic young leaders has never been more important. We hope that through YMUNT XIII, we can reaffirm the value of open dialogue and global citizenship for all.

This March, YMUNT XIII will feature committees led by Yale undergraduates spanning a wide range of academic disciplines and backgrounds. Delegates can expect a diverse selection of Model UN simulation formats — General Assemblies, Regional Bodies, Specialized Committees, and Crisis Simulations — united by a thematic focus on global tipping points of power: the actors, decisions, and forces pushing our world past points of no return. Our committee topics will pair Eastern and Western perspectives, reflecting the unique position YMUNT holds as a Yale-led conference rooted in Taipei. Beyond committees, delegates will hear from our Keynote Speaker, engage with nonprofit professionals at our Community Fair, explore the personal academic passions of our Directors through interactive Workshops, and hear from current Yale students at our Life at Yale panel.

Our team is committed to making YMUNT accessible and welcoming to delegates of all experience levels. We will provide updated training materials, host virtual introductory events, and run a live MUN training session before the conference begins. Directors will hold online Office Hours, review submitted position papers, and deliver individualized feedback throughout the weekend.

This year, we are placing a special emphasis on our advisors — the educators and mentors who make this conference possible. We will be introducing advisor-specific programming, including professional development sessions and post-conference delegation reports, because we believe that investing in advisors is investing in the long-term strength of our community.

Registration for YMUNT XIII will open in the fall. Our Secretariat cannot wait to return to Taipei to serve the regional MUN community, and we look forward to building something memorable together. I hope to see you there.
