WELCOME TO YMUNT XI!
Dear Delegates and Advisors,
My name is Lee-Ann Kao, and I am incredibly excited to welcome you to the eleventh iteration of Yale Model United Nations Taiwan, held March 14-16, 2025, in Taipei, Taiwan.
For the past ten years, it has been our pleasure to bring together bright-minded high school students and engage them in fast-paced, stimulating debates in international relations. YMUNT brings the expertise of the Yale International Relations Association, a Yale student organization holding advisory status within the United Nations, to Taiwan with a mission to foster diplomacy and cultural exchange among youth in the region. This year, our Secretariat hopes to build off this momentum and expose delegates to a more robust and premier Model UN experience, making YMUN Taiwan XI the best iteration of the conference to date.
Over the course of three days, delegates will improve diplomacy, problem solving, and public speaking skills while forming lifelong friendships. In addition to our committee programming, delegates will have the opportunity to engage with one another through our conference events and the Delegate Social. We will be bringing back the popular Community Fair, which welcomed twelve local non-profit groups, to connect students with organizations making real-world impact in the local community. We will also continue to offer a Life at Yale panel to answer students’ questions about Yale, college admissions, life abroad, and the college experience.
As we move towards a new decade of YMUNT, our Secretariat aims to make YMUN Taiwan XI accessible to delegates of all backgrounds. We aim to encourage a diversity of thought and experiences at the table through extensive financial assistance, proactive delegate recruitment, and resources for delegates with a range of languages and skill levels. As always, our priority is providing an enriching educational experience for all of our delegates, regardless of skill or experience.
Registration is open! We encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure a seat for our conference. Our Secretariat is thrilled to be able to host you and your students this March and cannot wait to improve on our past successes providing an unmatched learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at secgen@ymunt.org.
We are incredibly honored to be serving the MUN community in Taiwan and beyond. Thank you so much for your interest and continued support of Yale Model United Nations Taiwan, and I look forward to meeting you all in March. Again, welcome to YMUNT!
Best regards,
Lee-Ann Kao 高立晏
